Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 27, 2026
Overview
Ozone Weather ("Ozone", "we", "the app") is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide you with accurate weather information.
Location Data
Ozone requests access to your device location solely to provide weather data for your current position. Your location is:
- Sent directly to weather data providers (Apple WeatherKit, Open-Meteo, National Weather Service) to retrieve forecasts
- Never stored on our servers
- Never shared with third parties for advertising or analytics
- Processed on-device for saved locations
Saved Locations
Locations you save in the app are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. This data is not transmitted to any server.
No Accounts
Ozone does not require account creation. There is no sign-up, no email collection, and no user profiles.
No Analytics or Tracking
Ozone does not include any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or advertising frameworks. We do not track how you use the app.
Third-Party Services
Ozone retrieves weather data from:
- Apple WeatherKit — subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
- Open-Meteo — open-source weather API, no personal data collected
- National Weather Service (NWS) — US government public API, no personal data collected
Your approximate location (latitude and longitude) is sent to these services to retrieve weather forecasts. No other personal information is transmitted.
Data Sharing
The weather sharing feature allows you to share a location's weather via a link. This is initiated by you and contains only the location name and coordinates you choose to share. No personal data is included.
Children's Privacy
Ozone does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
